2012 DSI OPEN HOUSES HAVE BEGUN!!    

2012 Open Houses are off to a GREAT start with the first being held Friday, January 27th at Griffin, GA.  Attendance was great, some incredible prizes were given away, con-ed hours earned and lots of manufacturers reps were in attendance to "display their wares"!!  If you were unable to come by, you missed a great time.................but there's always next year!

The next open house will also be held in the Georgia area........at Ashburn, GA on Friday,

 LONG TIME DSI EXECUTIVE RETIRES

His given name is Larry Richard Dameron but to those in the drilling industry, he's "Cagey". Many of you may not know where the nickname came from, but you know the man who carries it.  Richard "Cagey" Dameron has had an outstanding forty-seven year career with Drillers Service, Inc.  He joined DSI in July 1964, where he worked in inventory control and soon became a Purchasing Agent, at the main office in Hickory, NC.  He was named Employee of the Year in 1966.  In 1970, he was promoted to salesman covering a territory that included VA to MD and was consistently recognized as a top salesman during his five years in that capacity.  In January 1976, he was promoted to a Branch Manager's position and operated a branch in Marietta, GA and one in Ashburn, GA.  In 1980, he opened a branch in the West Columbia area.  In 1983, he accepted the position of Sales and Marketing Manager for the company and moved back to the main office in Hickory.  In 1986, he and five other employees purchased the controlling interest in Drillers Service, Inc. and he became Executive Vice President as well as Sales and Marketing Manager for the company.  Under his co-leadership the company has grown from ten brances to twenty, extending from FL to IL.  He has currently been managing ten branch managers and approximately sixty salesmen.  During his career he served on the advisory boards of Red Jacket Mfg., CertainTeed Corp. and Grundfos Pumps Corp. He will currently remain on the Board of Directors of Drillers Service, Inc. 

The employees of DSI recently celebrated Cagey's many years of service to the company and the water well industry by surprising him with a Lil' Tex Elite grill pictured below.  Affixed to the back of the grill is a
